Shaykh ul Islaam Ibn Taymeeyah - rahimullah- said:
‘Seeking forgiveness from Allah is from the greatest of good deeds, it encompasses many matters, so whoever senses deficiency in his speech, or his actions, or his situation, or his provision, or his heart turning to and fro, then it is upon him to adhere to Tawheed and seeking forgiveness from Allah, since in these two matters there is the cure, if both those matters are done with Ikhlaas (sincerity).’
From ‘Majmoo al-Fatawa 11/698
The Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) said,
“Be patient, till you face them and invite them to Islam and inform them of what Allah has enjoined upon them. By Allah! If a single person embraces Islam at your hands (i.e. through you), that will be better for you than the red camels (most prized possession).”
Saheeh al Bukhari, Book #52, Hadeeth #192.
Everything happens for a reason, you just need to have patience and trust Him.
"Astonishing is that a person knows his Lord then disobeys Him, & knows the Shaytan then obeys him!" [Lata’if Al Mara’if Page 61]
